Job summary
South West Water Limited in the UK is seeking a Planned Maintenance Electrical Craftsperson to maintain and repair electrical systems across wastewater sites. You'll work with pumps, motors, control panels and switchgear, ensuring assets run safely and reliably and helping protect communities.
You'll perform planned maintenance, install new equipment to BS7671, diagnose control systems, and collaborate with a mobile multi-skilled team, while upholding RAMS and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above.
- Indentured Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
- Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in an Electrical discipline
- Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification e.g. City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC/HNC/HND
- A full UK driving licence is required
Responsibilities
- Carrying out planned maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment across multiple wastewater treatment sites
- Working with pumps, motors, panels, switchgear, and specialist process machinery
- Installing new electrical equipment to BS7671 standards
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical control systems
- Collaborating with mechanical and electrical colleagues as part of a mobile, multi‑skilled team
- Maintaining high safety standards, including RAMS and IEE regulations
- Participate in standby/call-out rota
