Dacorum Borough Council is seeking a Placement Lead Officer within the Housing Options Service on a fixed term contract or secondment until 31 March 2028. The role focuses on coordinating the Accommodation Resourcing Service and leading the Placement Team to secure suitable temporary accommodation for households in priority need under Part 7 of the 1996 Housing Act.

You will work closely with Housing Options and Housing Needs Teams to manage demand, monitor charges, and ensure services operate

Formación

• Driving licence valid in the UK.
• DBS check will be undertaken.
• Experience in line management or supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and support the Accommodation Resourcing Service as part of the Housing Options Service.
• Lead the Placement Team with day-to-day queries, supervision and appraisals of Placement Officers.
• Secure Temporary Accommodation and provide advice to households in temporary accommodation.
• Be the key contact for officers regarding the Council’s temporary accommodation.
• Ensure government legislation is adhered to regarding suitability of temporary accommodation.
• Collaborate with Housing Options and Housing Needs Teams to manage demand and reduce Bed & Breakfast expenditure.
• Monitor temporary accommodation charges and income.
