Job summary

Dacorum Borough Council is seeking a Housing Options Officer to join the Homeless Prevention and Assessment Team. You will provide advice and assistance to people facing homelessness and help them access suitable housing pathways.

The role requires knowledge of homelessness legislation, strong communication, and the ability to work with vulnerable groups. Driving licence is essential, and a DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of homelessness legislation and procedures.
• Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to meet performance targets and work with diverse client groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and assistance to people facing homelessness.
• Liaise with partners and agencies to guide applicants to housing pathways.
• Negotiate solutions and determine Temporary Accommodation placements when needed.
• Work within the Homeless Prevention and Assessment Team to deliver high quality services.
