Job description

Overview

We are looking for Phlebotomists to work across both site Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon. The two posts available are a full‑time post working a rota of 37.5 hours covering weekdays, weekends and some bank holidays, and a part‑time post working a rota of 25 hours (Mon‑Fri 5‑hour shifts including some weekend and bank holiday cover).

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and capillary sampling procedures.
• Extract blood samples from patients in a manner that makes the sample suitable for analytical, therapeutic, or diagnostic testing.
• Take blood samples safely and competently.
• Carry out all procedures safely and maintain high standards of care at all times.
• Ensure correct labelling and dispatch of samples.

Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Mount Vernon Hospital offers routine day surgery and outpatient services.
