A leading healthcare provider in Basildon is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood samples across hospital wards and community settings. Applicants should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, a caring attitude, and at least GCSE Level education. The role requires a driving license and offers full training, along with the chance to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting blood samples from patients in hospital wards, outpatient clinics, and community settings throughout South Essex. You will ensure correct procedures are followed in specimen handling, using appropriate PPE, and contribute to the accuracy and reliability of pathology testing that supports patient care.

This role is ideally suited for someone who is caring, friendly and would like to be a part of a team that contributes towards patient care. Previous healthcare experience will advantageous for this post. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work and communicate with a large team across multiple sections.
Our Phlebotomy services operate Monday to Sunday and bank holidays from 07.00am 20.00pm. Due to the wide operating times, you would be working a combination of shifts each week which would include early and late shifts. Weekends and bank holidays are essential and also an expectation for this role, however they are on a rotational basis and will attract additional enhanced pay.
A full driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential, as you will be required to travel to a variety of community clinic locations, previous experience is not essential as we offer full training. Successful applicants will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
