Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for HMP The Mount in Hertfordshire. The role is based in the healthcare hub and on prison wings, with 37.5 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 07:45–17:30. Salary ranges from £34,428 to £41,658 per year, depending on experience.

You’ll receive bespoke induction, CPD support, and clear career development, with a focus on safe medicines management and compassionate, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above or equivalent qualification.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
• General GCSE education or equivalent.
• Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care within the medicines management service.
• Maintain patient medical records to the standard and follow SOPs.
• Deliver timely administration of medicines and support cost-effective prescribing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP The Mount, a category C Prison located on the outskirts of Bovingdon Village in Hertfordshire.

About The Role

HMP The Mount is a Category C prison home to 1100 males. As a Pharmacy Technician you will be based within the healthcare hub and on the prison wings.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
