Job summary

Practice Plus Group at HMP Doncaster invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team in a category B prison in Doncaster. You will work a 37.5 hour week on a shift rota covering early to late shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

You will deliver a safe medicines management service, maintain patient medication records, and ensure SOPs are followed. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient-centred care and support service

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Pharmacy.
  • GPhC registration and CPD commitment.
  • GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised following policy.

  • Provide high-quality patient-centered care to prisoners.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Doncaster, a category B Prison located in Doncaster.

Hours

You will work a 37.5 hour week on a shift rota covering Monday - Sunday 7am - 5.30pm, alternate weekends, and bank holidays.

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £41,658 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you’ll be doing
  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

  • NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
  • General GCSE education or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
