Job summary

Practice Plus Group is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for HMP Hewell in Worcestershire to provide patient-centred medicines management within a secure environment. You will work in a 7-day service with an 8-week rota, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with procedures.

The role requires NVQ3 or equivalent, GPhC registration, CPD, and post-qualification experience. It offers progression, training, and a supportive team in a challenging, rewarding setting.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.
• General GCSE education or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care to patients, listening to feedback and acting on what matters.
• Maintain medicines management records and follow standard operating procedures.
• Deliver cost-effective prescribing within the Health in Justice medicines policy.
• Be a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Hewell, a category B remand prison located in Worcestershire.

Hours

The site currently offers a 7 day a week service and works on an 8 week rolling rota.

Monday to Friday - 7am - 6.30pm

Saturday and Sunday - 8.30am - 5.30pm

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £29,264 - £33,510 - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
• Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
• You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
