Job summary

Practice Plus Group in Worcestershire is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the HMP Hewell team. The role supports a 7-day service with an 8-week rolling rota, delivering high-quality prison pharmaceutical services within national guidelines.

Qualifications

• GPhC registered pharmacist.
• Available to newly qualified pharmacists and beyond.
• Management and leadership experience (desirable).
• Procurement and audit experience (desirable).
• Relevant post qualifying experience working within a pharmacy environment.
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within the HMP site based on National (Divisional) policies and local SOPs, while maintaining security.
• Be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team within the wider Cluster of Healthcare Services, following Practice Plus Group policies and national guidelines.
• Take on day-to-day operational management activities for their unit when required and ensure appropriate training and competency.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HMP Hewell, a category B remand prison located in Worcestershire. Hours

The site currently offers a 7 day a week service and works on an 8 week rolling rota. Monday to Friday - 7am - 6.30pm Saturday and Sunday - 8.30am - 5.30pm

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary of £34,428 - £41,658 - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

• Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within the HMP site based on National (Divisional) policies supported with local standard operating protocols, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security..
• Be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who forms part of the wider Cluster of Healthcare Services. PPG policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.
• Be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities.
