Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a Category C Prison located near Wetherby, Yorkshire. HMP Wealstun is a male prison with a focus on training and education. The pharmacy has its own dispensary and a full team of around 15 staff (permanent and bank). The Health in Justice team at Practice Plus Group supports work across over 53 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. Responsibilities
- Ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
- Ensuring timely administration of medicines and analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our Health in Justice medicines policy.
- Collaborating with the team to make a difference to the people we support and contribute to making Practice Plus Group a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work.
- Communicating complex or sensitive information with empathy and understanding to patients.
- Sharing information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimens, medicines legislation and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team is appropriately informed.

Qualifications & Experience
- NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).
- Relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.
- Ideally, experience in a hospital, community or prison environment; secure environments are highly challenging but rewarding for healthcare professionals.

- This position is part-time. Salary is up to £41,658 per annum pro rata depending on experience.
