Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service. You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Mon-Fri 9-6; typical 15‑month training blending with your job. Earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised qualification in pharmacy.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs at A-C (or 4-9) in Maths and English is desirable but not essential; training provided.
  • No previous pharmacy experience required; full training provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
  • Assist with preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
  • Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
  • Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety, and confidentiality.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

  • Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries
  • Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)
  • Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records
  • Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality
  • Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service

Duration: Typically 15 months

Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning

Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours

Working Week

Mn- Fri 9-6, commutable distance, eng and maths preferred.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Future Prospects

This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
