Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd in Bath is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice. You will support daily pharmacy operations, assist customers, and work with the team to ensure safe and efficient service while undertaking a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship.

Full training and support are provided; you will learn to manage stock, process prescriptions, and contribute to excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs at grade A-C (or 4-9) in Maths and English, desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
  • Assist with preparation and supply of prescriptions under supervision.
  • Handle stock, deliveries and maintain records accurately.
  • Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health and safety.

  • [Bath] About the role As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Key duties include: Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision) Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service What we’re looking for: A genuine interest in healthcare and working with people Strong communication and customer service skills Good attention to detail and willingness to learn Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment Reliable, punctual and professional Basic IT skills No previous pharmacy experience is required full training is provided.

Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship Duration: Typically 15 months Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning Apprentices must be able to commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours Why apply?

Working Week Monday to Friday 9-6 Qualifications Required GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Personal Qualities Patience, Non judgemental, Team working Skills Required Communication skills, Organisation skills Training to be Provided Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.

Future Prospects This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
