Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Network Management Technician to support the assessment and administration of highway works, permits and road space applications. The role is based in Croft and requires regular office attendance, with a minimum of three days per week during the first four weeks before reducing to one day per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in Streetworks and NRSWA within utilities, contract partners or highway authorities.
• Strong understanding of highway works legislation and permit schemes.
• Practical experience using Street Manager and One.Network.
• Understanding of permit assessment, challenges, approvals and variations.
• Knowledge of Section 50, Section 171 and Road Space Booking applications.
• Clear communication and ability to work with internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assess short-duration permit applications including emergency and urgent works.
• Issue approvals or challenge applications based on provided information.
• Manage modification requests and variations per legislation.
• Assess third-party applications without Street Manager access.
• Use Street Manager and One.Network to review highway works information.
• Apply NRSWA knowledge to permit decisions.
• Record and update work information in Confirm system.
• Collaborate with utilities, contract partners and authorities to support network management.

Job description

Our client, is seeking a Network Management Technician to support the assessment and administration of highway works, permits and road space applications. This contract role is based in Croft and requires regular office attendance, with a minimum of three days per week during the first four weeks before reducing to one day per week. Part-time working may also be considered to support family commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessing short-duration permit applications, including immediate, emergency and urgent works
• Issuing agreement to work approvals or challenging applications based on the information provided
• Managing modification requests and imposed variations in line with relevant legislation
• Assessing applications from third parties without access to Street Manager, including Section 50, Road Space Booking and Section 171 applications
• Using Street Manager and One.Network to manage and review highway works information
• Applying knowledge of Streetworks and the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) to permit decisions
• Recording and updating work information accurately within the Confirm works management system
• Working with utility companies, contract partners, highway authorities and other stakeholders to support effective network management

Job Requirements:

• Experience in Streetworks and NRSWA within the utilities, contract partner or highway authority sector
• Strong understanding of relevant highway works legislation and permit schemes
• Practical experience using Street Manager and One.Network
• Understanding of permit assessment, challenges, approvals and variations
• Knowledge of Section 50, Section 171 and Road Space Booking applications
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess technical information accurately
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of Confirm would be advantageous, although full training will be provided

Working Arrangements:

• Full-time contract position
• Part-time working may be considered
• Office-based at Croft for a minimum of three days per week during the first four weeks
• Office attendance reducing to one day per week thereafter
