Job summary

Sanctuary Group is seeking a Peripatetic Service Manager for the North region to lead service delivery and manage a team, ensuring tenancy conditions are enforced and services meet health and safety requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, effective stakeholder liaison, and a hands-on approach to support service users, with travel across the region and a focus on maintaining service quality and financial viability.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a managerial role within a CQC service and housing management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills with knowledge of relevant statutory legislation and good practice.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Compassionate, hands-on approach to support service users.
  • Experience liaising with statutory and voluntary partners.

Responsibilities

The role of Peripatetic Service Manager will include:
  • Leading the overall delivery of the services in the region, through the management of the team and liaison with the Area Service Manager
  • Ensure consistent continuity in the delivery of services and enforcement of tenancy conditions in compliance with health and safety, housing regulations and other relevant legislation to ensure service users are supported to maintain their tenancy understanding their rights and obligations

  • Manage the audit of services to identify risks and design, develop and implement and resolutions to stabilise services in support of Group aims and objectives
  • Ensure the availability of administrative support for the delivery of high quality, value for money and economically viable support services, to maintain accurate records, assist with the setting and monitoring of budgets and accounts and to support debt recovery
  • Manage the recruitment, performance and development of quality staff and ensure that resources are managed effectively to meet business needs
  • Ensure that contract performance complies with regulatory and organisational requirements, ensuring best practice is shared across the service and all staff have an understanding and commitment to the delivery of the business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, and relevant external agencies ensuring clients are empowered to become involved in the service, local and national forums, and to engage with community activities
  • Ensure that clients’ support packages to ensure appropriate resources, within a multidisciplinary framework, are available response to current and potential client’s needs
  • Maintain the economic viability of services by assisting with budget setting and monitoring, recovering debts and seeking opportunities to generate income to ensure the continued viability of the business
  • Manage the coordination, communication and maintenance of relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to special programmes and projects in support of the Group's values and objectives.
    Flexibility around working hours is expected in accordance with the needs of the service

Skills and experiences:
  • Previous experience of working in a managerial role within a CQC service and housing management experience
  • you will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills along with comprehensive knowledge of relevant current statutory legislation and good practice principles
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Compassionate, caring, and hard working with a hands-on approach to support
  • You will have experience of working in a personalised way supporting service users to maximise opportunities for personal development
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with statutory and voluntary partners
  • Travel is a requirement of the role; a full, current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required
