Spire Hartwood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex is recruiting an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our perioperative team. You’ll scrub for orthopaedic procedures, support the theatre team and help maintain safe, high-quality perioperative care in a private hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Registered Nurse or ODP in theatre.
• Experience in orthopaedic theatre settings.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Patient-focused with a commitment to high clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing for orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy).
• Support the theatre team across the perioperative pathway.
• Prepare equipment and ensure theatres are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and MDT.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and continuous improvement.
• Support junior staff and foster a positive team culture.

Duties and responsibilities:

You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care, including:

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy, and minor procedures)
• Supporting the theatre team across the perioperative pathway
• Preparing equipment and ensuring theatres are safe and compliant
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical quality, governance, and continuous improvement
• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Experience working in theatre in an orthopaedic setting
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, patient-focused approach
• Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards
