Job summary

Spire Bushey Hospital is seeking an Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join the Theatre Department on a bank basis. This role offers a £5,000 joining bonus, 37.5 hours per week, and a no-night rota. The team covers major orthopaedics and other specialties within a supportive private hospital setting.

Applicants must be HCPC/NMC registered with a minimum of two years scrub experience in orthopaedics, and demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills with a flexible, positive attitude.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered ODP or NMC registered Nurse (no restrictions).
• Minimum 2 years scrub experience (Major Orthopaedics).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible, positive attitude.
• Desirable: Surgical First Assist (SFA) qualification.
• Full time 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative setting.
• Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex caseload.
• Assist in delivery of care to meet patient health needs.
• Provide and receive complex information with patients and colleagues.
• Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
• Contribute to quality improvement and service development.

Duties and responsibilities

• To provide exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
• Assess patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
• Assist in the delivery of care to meet patient's health and wellbeing.
• Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
• Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
• Promotes best practice in health and safety and security.
• Assist in maintaining and developing services.
• Contribute to quality improvement.
• Promote people's equality, diversity and rights
• Apply technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
• Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
