Job summary

Spire Leicester Hospital is recruiting a Scrub Nurse or ODP to join our orthopaedic theatre team in Leicester. You will deliver perioperative care across a range of orthopaedic procedures, scrubbing and assisting the theatre team to ensure safe, efficient care for patients.

We value clinicians who can work autonomously and with the MDT, supporting quality care, patient experience and continuous improvement in a private hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with theatre experience.
• Experience in orthopaedic theatre preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing for orthopaedic procedures including joints and arthroscopy.
• Support the theatre team across the perioperative pathway.
• Prepare equipment and ensure theatres are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and MDT.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and continuous improvement.
• Support junior staff and maintain positive team culture.

Perioperative Practitioner – Orthopaedics | Leicester | Oadby | Full Time | No Nights

Are you an experienced Theatre Practitioner with a passion for orthopaedics?

At Spire Leicester Hospital, we’re looking for a Scrub Nurse or ODP to join our high-performing theatre team. You’ll be part of a supportive environment delivering a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, working alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a well-equipped private hospital setting, with a strong focus on quality care, efficiency, and patient experience.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care, including:

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy, and minor procedures)
• Supporting the theatre team across the perioperative pathway
• Preparing equipment and ensuring theatres are safe and compliant
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical quality, governance, and continuous improvement
• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Experience working in theatre, ideally in an orthopaedic setting
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, patient-focused approach
• Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards

Desirable:

• Orthopaedic scrub experience
• Private healthcare experience
