Job summary

Spire Leicester Hospital is seeking a qualified Scrub Nurse or ODP to join the orthopaedics theatre team in Leicester. You will deliver perioperative care, scrub for orthopaedic procedures, and work with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider MDT to maintain high standards of patient care.

The role involves contributing to governance and continuous improvement while supporting junior staff in a collaborative, private healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner registration.
• Experience working in theatre, ideally in an orthopaedic setting.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proactive, patient-focused approach and commitment to high clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures including joint replacements and arthroscopy.
• Support the theatre team across the perioperative pathway.
• Prepare equipment and ensure theatres are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and MDT.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and improvement.
• Support junior staff and promote a positive team culture.

Are you an experienced Theatre Practitioner with a passion for orthopaedics?

At Spire Leicester Hospital, we’re looking for a Scrub Nurse or ODP to join our high-performing theatre team. You’ll be part of a supportive environment delivering a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, working alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a well-equipped private hospital setting, with a strong focus on quality care, efficiency, and patient experience.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care, including:

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy, and minor procedures)
• Supporting the theatre team across the perioperative pathway
• Preparing equipment and ensuring theatres are safe and compliant
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical quality, governance, and continuous improvement
• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For:
