Job summary

Spire Leicester Hospital is seeking a Scrub Nurse or ODP to join our orthopaedic theatre team in Leicester. You will scrub for a range of orthopaedic procedures and support the perioperative pathway in a private hospital setting.

The role requires registration as a Nurse or ODP, theatre experience (ideally orthopaedics), and a proactive, patient-focused approach. You will be part of a supportive team delivering high clinical standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or ODP with theatre experience or qualification.
• Experience in theatre, ideally orthopaedics.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy).
• Support the theatre team across perioperative pathway.
• Prepare equipment and ensure theatres are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and MDT.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and continuous improvement.
• Support junior staff and maintain a positive team culture.

Are you an experienced Theatre Practitioner with a passion for orthopaedics?

At Spire Leicester Hospital, we’re looking for a Scrub Nurse or ODP to join our high-performing theatre team. You’ll be part of a supportive environment delivering a wide range of orthopaedic procedures, working alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a well-equipped private hospital setting, with a strong focus on quality care, efficiency, and patient experience.

The Role

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy, and minor procedures)
• Supporting the theatre team across the perioperative pathway
• Preparing equipment and ensuring theatres are safe and compliant
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical quality, governance, and continuous improvement
• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Experience working in theatre, ideally in an orthopaedic setting
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, patient-focused approach
• Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards

Desirable:

• Orthopaedic scrub experience
• Private healthcare experience
