Job summary

Spire Dunedin Hospital in Reading is seeking an experienced OPD or Nurse to join our high-performing Theatre Team, focusing on general scrub. This is a full-time fixed-term role for 12 months with no night shifts or Sunday working.

The successful candidate will support a wide range of surgical procedures, promote best practice, and help drive health and safety improvements under expert supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner with scrub experience.
• Experience working in teams and with minimal supervision.
• Competence across a range of skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
• Ophthalmic and orthopaedic experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health and well-being across a complex caseload and assist in delivering care.
• Promote best practice, collect and interpret data to support improvements and share findings.
• Develop a culture of health, safety, infection control and lead knowledge development.

Spire Dunedin Hospital is recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced OPD or Nurse to join our high performing Theatre Team. With a focus on general scrub, this is your opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading private hospitals and take your career to the next level.

Spire Dunedin Hospital has been serving the Reading community for over 100 years, as a first-class medical facility. Based in the heart of Reading, the hospital has two theatres, 16 inpatient beds, three recovery bays, Oncology services and an Endoscopy Suite.

Most important is that our Theatre staff /ODPs are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision. Duties and responsibilities:

The Hospital covers a wide variety of surgical procedures:

• You will support in assessing patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload, assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient’s needs
• You will actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements, collect collate and organize data, interpret all of the information and make a justifiable assessment, making this available to relevant others
• You will also develop a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security and infection control, lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practices

• Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration/practitioner qualification
• Ophthalmic and Orthopaedic experience would be highly desirable
