Job summary

Spire Hartwood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex is seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner to join the perioperative team in our private facility. You will scrub for orthopaedic procedures and support the theatre team across the perioperative pathway.

Qualifications

• Theatre practitioner with orthopaedic theatre experience.
• Registered Nurse or ODP registration.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for orthopaedic procedures including joint replacements and arthroscopy.
• Support theatre team across the perioperative pathway.
• Prepare equipment and ensure theatres are safe and compliant.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and MDT.
• Contribute to clinical quality, governance and improvement.
• Support junior staff and foster a positive team culture.

Spire Hartswood Hospital is a 49 bed hospital with 4 theatres and offers a comprehensive rangeof services and facilities. Duties and responsibilities:

You’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality perioperative care, including:

• Scrubbing for a range of orthopaedic procedures (e.g. joint replacements, arthroscopy, and minor procedures)
• Supporting the theatre team across the perioperative pathway
• Preparing equipment and ensuring theatres are safe and compliant
• Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and wider MDT
• Contributing to clinical quality, governance, and continuous improvement
• Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive team culture

What We’re Looking For:

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Experience working in theatre in an orthopaedic setting
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A proactive, patient-focused approach
• Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards
