Are you actively looking for a new opportunity or just exploring the market? You might be in the right place!

We are seeking a People Business Partner to join our People & Culture team in London. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The position can be based in Paris or London and requires fluency in both French and English. Knowledge of French employment law is essential; familiarity with UK employment law is a strong plus.

As the main contact for all people-related projects, you will partner with People and Culture colleagues, key stakeholders, and leaders to deliver a strategic people plan aligned with our teams' needs and priorities. You will specifically support the Sales teams in France and the UK, the Enablement team across EMEA, and other departments as needed.

You are a proactive communicator, a change agent, and capable of balancing employee needs with business objectives to create effective solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing strategic HR leadership to business leaders, stakeholders, and the People & Culture team, aligning initiatives with the evolving needs of teams across France, the UK, and EMEA.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leadership to enhance performance, foster inclusive leadership, and drive cultural alignment.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for employee relations, ensuring compliance with French employment law; knowledge of UK regulations is a plus.
  • Leading data-driven discussions with leaders to anticipate needs and guide decisions through insights.
  • Partnering on HR programs such as career development, performance management, employee engagement, DEI, compensation, and talent development.
  • Contributing to strategic projects and change initiatives supporting the People & Culture roadmap.
  • Driving organizational design and workforce planning, including succession planning and talent mapping.
  • Supporting managers through coaching, upskilling, and HR best practices.
  • Collaborating with global partners to align local practices with global policies while ensuring legal compliance.
  • Shaping and nurturing a positive employee experience that reflects Lightspeed’s values and mission.

What you need to bring:

  • Extensive HR Generalist and People Business Partner experience within a software technology company.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a related field.
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Deep knowledge of French employment law; familiarity with UK employment law is a plus.
  • Experience managing large, global projects.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills, with credibility with leaders and ability to handle difficult conversations.
  • Interest and involvement in diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee engagement.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to connect with various personalities and leadership.
  • Innovative thinking with a focus on metrics and insights.
  • Ability to switch between strategic and tactical work.

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech organization.
  • Experience leading a team.
