South East London Mind is seeking a Peer Support Coordinator for the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub. This role involves coordinating peer support services, overseeing volunteer activities, and providing direct support to clients. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and lived experience of mental health issues, contributing to a holistic approach in mental health care.
We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub (BMHWH). This initiative is part of transforming mental health services in the London Borough of Bromley under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service integrates expertise from local primary, secondary, and voluntary sector mental health care providers to offer flexible, holistic, and integrated services for adults with mental health issues.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Support Coordinator to join the BMHWH. This role involves supporting the development and delivery of mental health peer support within the service, across the London Borough of Bromley. Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting our team of Peer Support Volunteers, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of peer-led services. You will collaborate with the Senior Peer Support Coordinator to meet targets, develop and implement group programs, and oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision. You will work closely with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust colleagues.
The role requires strong communication skills across BMHWH teams and involves handling safeguarding situations that may arise within groups. You will also provide some direct, person-centered support to clients, drawing on your lived experience. Accurate record-keeping and outcome monitoring are essential. The position may require occasional out-of-hours work and covering for team colleagues.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
