Job Overview

Our Physical Education Department is seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated PE Teacher with a passion for their subject to join our vibrant and supportive team. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality Physical Education and support teaching Child Development and Health & Social Care, contributing to the wider academic curriculum.

Responsibilities
  • Engage, enthuse, motivate and challenge pupils to excel academically.
  • Maintain relentlessly high expectations for yourself and pupils.
  • Deliver a standard timetable allocation across years 7 to 11.
  • Share resources and good practice, observe lessons, mentor and participate in the Continuing Professional Studies Programme.
  • Set, mark examinations, attend departmental meetings and undertake delegated administrative tasks.
  • Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • Support the school’s aims and objectives for teaching and learning and adhere to all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Good degree in a directly related subject (desirable).
  • Thorough knowledge of the (11‑16) subject curriculum up to GCSE.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Awareness of safeguarding requirements and good practice.
  • Strong IT literacy.
  • Capability to deliver inspirational and informative lessons to the full age and ability range of pupils.
  • Positive and authoritative rapport with pupils.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Organised, self‑motivated with a proven record for meeting targets and deadlines.
  • A good sense of humour.
