Job summary

Capital One UK seeks a Payments Settlement Operations Lead in Farnborough to manage settlement balancing, reconciliations and risk controls within the International Settlement team. The role blends daily financial controls with process improvements and cross-functional collaboration across compliance and risk functions.

You will oversee daily settlement balances, resolve discrepancies, mentor team members, and explore automation and AI opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Cross functional knowledge of the Payment Network Industry focusing on Financial Services, Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk or Operations.
• Google Suite knowledge and expertise, particularly in AI (Gemini and GEMS)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees and management; including managing expectations, communicating issues, risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial and operational support on the DCI Settlement System daily controls, ensuring Settlement balances daily and meeting team objectives.
• Research and resolve daily Settlement discrepancies and production issues, coordinating with Business Partners to meet customer needs.
• Lead the team’s response to past due payments and payments to settlement agents, removing roadblocks as needed.
• Coach and mentor team members to provide premier customer service within SLAs and develop offshore bench strength.
• Identify improvement and automation opportunities to enhance daily controls and mitigate future errors.

Skills

Education

Certification in Control Self Assessment, CIA, CPA or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager
