Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer for the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead pavement renewal schemes and coordinate with project teams to ensure safe, reliable journeys.

You will support early solutions, develop briefs for contractors, and manage technical aspects across the region. The role is based from Basingstoke or Maidstone with potential unsociable hours and regional travel.

Qualifications

• Professional body membership is desirable or working towards membership.
• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline and experience, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead in development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes across the SRN.
• Support asset studies and surveys, prioritising needs to keep assets serviceable.
• Develop technical briefs for design and contractor work packages.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers including material approvals and site inspections.
• Coordinate works with project teams and external stakeholders across the region.
