Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead pavement renewal schemes, coordinating with project teams and stakeholders to ensure safety and compliance with standards.

You may be based in Basingstoke or Maidstone, with potential unsociable hours and travel; driving is required and a clean license is needed. The role focuses on asset studies, early solutions, and value management.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes across the region.
• Coordinate works with project teams and third parties to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers, including materials approvals and site inspections.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors for improvements and renewals.
