Job summary

National Highways in the South East region is looking for an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the Operations Directorate. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes to ensure the SRN safely meets customer needs now and in the future.

Based from Basingstoke or Maidstone, the role may require unsociable hours and travel. You will support with early solutions, asset studies and coordination with project teams and third parties while upholding DMRB standards

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline with appropriate experience.
• Membership of a professional Body (desirable) or working towards Membership.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Ability to coordinate with project teams and third parties.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of pavement renewal schemes and associated options.
• Coordinate works across the South East region with stakeholders.
• Provide technical support including materials approvals and site inspections.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Ensure adherence to asset class strategies, policies and standards.
