Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region, based in Basingstoke or Maidstone. You will lead pavement renewal schemes, coordinate with project teams and external parties, and support asset studies to ensure SRN assets remain serviceable.

The role requires driving with no more than 3 points, and a degree or HND in a relevant discipline. Membership in a professional body is desirable. The role may involve unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Membership of a professional Body is desirable or you are working towards Membership.
• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes for the SRN.
• Coordinate works across the region with project teams and third parties.
• Support asset studies, surveys and value management considerations.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Provide engineering oversight including materials approvals and site inspections.
