Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes, coordinating with project teams and third parties to ensure safety and asset standards are met.

The role may be based in Basingstoke or Maidstone, with possible unsociable hours and travel requirements. You will develop early solutions, support asset studies, and provide technical briefs to contractors, while maintaining health

Qualifications

Membership of professional Body (desirable) or working towards Membership.
Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent.
Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes across the region.
Coordinate works with project teams and third parties to ensure asset care and standards.
Provide technical support to Project Managers, including materials approvals and site inspections.
Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors for renewals and improvements.
Support asset studies and surveys, prioritising needs to keep assets in serviceable condition.
