Job summary

National Highways in the South East region seeks an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team within the Operations Directorate to lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes on the SRN.

You will coordinate with project teams and third parties, provide technical support, and develop briefs for design and construction contractors while ensuring compliance with DMRB and CDM 2015 standards.

Qualifications

• Membership of professional Body (desirable) or working towards Membership
• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes within the SRN.
• Support planning and development, coordinating works across the region with project teams and third parties.
• Develop and check technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Provide technical support on materials approvals, vetting contractors, site inspections and Health & Safety files.
