Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East Region. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes to ensure the SRN safely meets customers’ needs, working with project teams and third parties to coordinate works and provide technical support.

The role requires a degree or equivalent, knowledge of DMRB standards and CDM 2015, and highway design experience.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes.
• Coordinate works across the region and provide technical support.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Assist Project Managers with materials approvals, vetting of contractors' compliance, and on-site inspection.
