Pavement Renewal Engineer — Lead Highway Upgrades

Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead in developing and delivering a wide range of pavement renewal schemes to ensure the SRN safely meets the needs of customers now and into the future.

Working with project teams and third parties, you will coordinate activities, provide technical support, and develop briefs for renewal works, applying DMRB standards and CDM 2015 guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on highways.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 requirements.
• Membership of a professional body or working towards it (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes in the South East.
• Support identification and development of early pavement solutions and asset studies.
• Coordinate works with project teams and third parties across the region.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers, vet contractors' compliance and inspect Health and Safety Files.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors for renewal/improvement works.
