Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead pavement renewal schemes, coordinate with project teams and third parties, and ensure asset standards are met across the SRN.

The role involves planning, development, and technical briefs for design and construction contractors, with travel to sites and potential unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience.
• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are considered in planning and delivery of each service activity.
• Provide support in asset studies and survey works, prioritising needs to keep assets in serviceable condition.
• Develop early solutions for renewals and improvements, including evidence and options for value management.
