Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the Operations Directorate. You will lead in developing and delivering pavement renewal schemes to keep the SRN safe and reliable for customers.

You will support early solutions, coordinate with project teams and third parties, and provide technical support to Project Managers, including site inspections and contractor vetting. Based in the South East with potential unsocial hours, office locations in Basingstoke or

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Familiar with CDM 2015 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes for the SRN.
• Coordinate works across the South East region with project teams and third parties.
• Develop technical briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and inspect on site.
• Assist with materials approvals and vetting of contractors’ compliance.
