Job summary

National Highways in the South East region is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team within the Operations Directorate. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes, coordinating with project teams and third parties to ensure on‑time delivery and adherence to standards.

You will support asset studies, create technical briefs for designers and contractors, and provide on‑site inspection and safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DMRB standards and highway asset management.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design and delivery.
• Understanding of CDM 2015.
• Strong stakeholder coordination and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes.
• Coordinate works with project teams and third parties.
• Provide technical support and ensure asset class policy adherence.
• Develop early solutions for renewals and improvements.
• Prepare briefs for design and construction contractors.
• Review materials approvals and site inspections.
