Job summary

Nuffield Health Hereford Hospital is seeking a Patient Services Administrator (Bank) to support administration in a busy hospital setting. The role involves handling large volumes of email requests, referral-to-appointment processing, and ensuring service deliverables are met with excellent customer service.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 2 in Business & Administration or equivalent and prior experience in customer-facing roles.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration or equivalent.
• Experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Able to handle appointments and payments and operate a switchboard.

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly, efficient reception service with face-to-face and telephone contact.
• Operate a complex switchboard following agreed procedures.
• Handle queries within remit and escalate complex issues to senior staff when required.
• Admit patients to the department and make straightforward appointment bookings and amendments.
• Take payments from patients and reconcile monies daily.
• Prepare standard and ad-hoc reports as required by the department.
• Coordinate availability of rooms and consultants, and create/alter/cancel clinics or theatre availability.
