Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Patient Scheduler to process referrals within the Referral Management Service. You will print, collate and record referrals on the Patient Management System and schedule appointments that meet clinical priorities and waiting time targets.

Key tasks include interpreting terminology, positive patient identification, and maintaining accurate demographics with CHI numbers present at all times. NHS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3, Customer Care or a minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role preferably within an NHS environment.

Responsibilities

• Print, collate and record referrals on PMS and prioritise urgent referrals.
• Interpret medical terminology to route referrals to the correct clinician/service.
• Identify patients and match referrals to patient history accurately.
• Maintain accurate patient demographics on PMS and ensure CHI numbers present.
