Ashford Medical Partnership is seeking a Medical Receptionist and Care Navigator to join its GP surgeries. You will be the first point of contact for patients, directing them to the right service and handling reception, appointments, and record updates in a busy primary care environment.

The role blends face-to-face and telephone duties, includes after-hours phone coverage, and requires experience with EMIS Web, Docman and Klinik to efficiently manage patient data and support the practice team.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths grades A–C.
• Experience as a medical receptionist.
• Experience with EMIS Web, Docman and Klinik.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assist and direct patients to the appropriate service.
• Deal with queries by telephone and in person.
• Book appointments and handle visit and home requests.
• Register patients and update medical records.
• Update patient addresses and change-of-address data.
• Pull, file and update patient notes.
• Greet patients and consult with the practice team.
• Cover all reception positions as needed.
• Follow written protocols and maintain practice procedures.
• Provide general admin support including faxing and photocopying.
• Cover the telephonist role during and after hours.
• Ensure rooms are cleared after surgery and maintain security.
