Job summary

South Queen Street Medical Centre is seeking a care navigator/receptionist to join our busy GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors and visitors, handling general office tasks and providing a friendly, professional welcome.

The role is 5 hours per day, 5 days a week with alternate weekly AM & PM shifts (8am–6:30pm). IT skills are essential, including searches and data input; GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a friendly manner.
• Highly organised with strong IT and data input abilities.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Ability to work flexibly, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals.
• Provide general reception duties and maintain a welcoming reception area.
• Handle patient enquiries and direct to appropriate services.
• Process prescription requests and manage communications.
• Use SystmOne to access and update patient information securely.
• Work with GPs, nurses and admin staff to support practice operations.
