Job summary

Hours: Full time and part time hours available. Applicants must be able to travel between our main surgery BN1 6AG, and our branch surgeries BN2 9SL and BN2 4GJ.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Practice team and Primary Care Network Team to support them administratively.
  • Handle reception duties, booking appointments, processing information and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Act as the central point of contact for patients, directing patients through the various patient pathways.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills, good record keeping and provide outstanding customer service.
Qualifications
  • Essential qualifications: GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Desirable qualifications: GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above), AMSPAR Qualification, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Essential experience: working with the general public, administrative duties, working in a health care setting.
  • Desirable experience: working in a general practice setting, knowledge of medical terminology, experience working with healthcare professionals across NHS Network.
  • Essential skills: excellent communication skills (written and oral), strong IT skills, clear polite telephone manner, competent in the use of Office and Outlook, effective time management, ability to work as a team member and autonomously, good interpersonal skills, problem solving & analytical skills, ability to follow policy and procedure.
  • Desirable skills: knowledge of Information Governance and Data Quality regulations and legislation, EMIS Web.
About Us

We are a large practice operating across 3 sites: the main surgery Stanford Medical Centre, and 2 branch surgeries – the Islingword Road surgery and the Cockcroft surgery. We have a large GP, Nursing and Administrative team:

  • GP Team: 6 GP partners and 7 salaried GP's.
  • Nursing Team: 5 Nurses, a Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomist.
  • Pharmacy Team: 3 Pharmacists and a pharmacy technician.
  • Other Clinical staff: Mental Health Practitioner, 3 First Contact Practitioner's.
