This pivotal role is central to ensuring patients progress smoothly and in a timely manner through the skin cancer pathway, from referral through to diagnosis or discharge. You will play a key part in coordinating the patient journey, supporting excellent standards of care and ensuring pathways are managed efficiently and compassionately.

You will be joining a newly established team and will need to be flexible, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. The role requires strong organisational and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will enjoy managing multiple tasks, liaising with multidisciplinary teams and supporting patients during what can be an anxious time. Experience within cancer services, knowledge of cancer waiting times guidance and familiarity with Somerset applications would be advantageous; however, this is not essential, as full training will be provided.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patient experience within a supportive and evolving service.

Liaising with the clinical and booking teams to manage the planned checkpoints throughout a patient's clinical journey and support the clinical team in ensuring the specialty is able to deliver safe and effective services.

As part of the wider, well established, Skin Cancer Team, facilitate streamlined administrative processes to ensure patients referred into the Trust on a cancer pathway are tracked, escalated and monitored in line with cancer wait time guidance.

Be adaptable and willing to work flexibly as the service progresses, contributing to service development and improvement.

Use a caring and empathetic approach and also have the ability to support the Service across various sites.
