Job summary

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established materials handling company to appoint an experienced Parts Controller in Devizes. You will source, order and manage parts for a range of equipment, working closely with Service and Sales teams to minimise downtime and keep engineers supplied.

The ideal candidate will have prior parts-based experience, strong organisation, excellent customer service and solid IT skills, including stock/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a parts-based role.
• Experience with forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural, commercial vehicle or industrial parts is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of spare parts and part-number identification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ordering, receiving and distribution of forklift and materials handling spare parts.
• Identify and source parts for different makes and models.
• Process parts enquiries from customers, service engineers and internal teams.
• Prepare quotations and process sales and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate stock records and carry out regular stock checks.
• Monitor stock levels and place replenishment orders as required.
• Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and parts distributors regarding availability, pricing and delivery times.
• Arrange urgent parts deliveries to engineers and customers.
• Track backorders and keep customers and engineers updated.
• Manage returns, warranty parts and incorrect or damaged deliveries.
• Maintain accurate parts and stock information using Protean and other company systems.

Parts Controller

Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, 42.5 hours per week
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing materials handling solutions company for an experienced Parts Controller to join their team in Devizes.

The company is part of a long-established family business with over 90 years of history and provides a complete range of materials handling, powered access, cleaning equipment and associated solutions to customers across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Parts Controller, Parts Advisor or Parts Administrator to join a close-knit team and play an important role in supporting the Service and Sales functions.

The Role

Reporting to the National Parts Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Service Controller, Service Engineers, Workshop and Sales teams to source, order and manage parts for a range of materials handling equipment.

The role will involve managing parts enquiries, sourcing and ordering the correct parts, maintaining stock levels and ensuring engineers and customers receive parts promptly to minimise equipment downtime.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a parts environment and will be highly organised, customer-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining an organised and efficient parts warehouse.
• Work closely with Service and Workshop teams to minimise equipment downtime.
• Ensure invoices, delivery notes and purchase documentation are accurate.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve parts-related queries.
• Support the wider Service and Parts team with general administration as required.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar parts-based role.

Experience within forklift, plant, automotive, agricultural, commercial vehicle or industrial parts would be highly advantageous.

Candidates should have:

• Previous experience as a Parts Controller, Parts Advisor, Parts Administrator or in a similar position.
• Good knowledge of spare parts and part-number identification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock/ERP systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent requirements.
• Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
• A full UK driving licence may be required depending on the requirements of the role.
