Glen Callum Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced Parts Advisor to join an established motor factor in the Portsmouth area. You will have strong knowledge of vehicle parts and provide excellent service to trade and retail customers.

This role involves identifying, sourcing and supplying parts, processing orders, and maintaining a high standard of customer support in a fast-paced environment. Competitive salary, pension and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Background in automotive parts sales, motor factor sales, car parts, automotive retail or vehicle components.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to handle trade and retail customers.
• Confident communication style and professional telephone manner.
• Good IT skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with automotive parts cataloguing systems (e.g., MAM Autocat) would help.

Responsabilités

• Handle enquiries from trade and retail customers.
• Identify and supply correct car parts and automotive components.
• Process customer orders accurately using internal systems.
• Use parts cataloguing systems to identify vehicle parts (MAM Autocat or similar).
• Provide professional customer service and handle queries, returns and stock checks.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to source the right parts.
• Assist with dispatch coordination, general admin and occasional warehouse duties.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a fast, efficient service.

Parts Advisor - Automotive

Location: Portsmouth, Southsea, Cosham, Hilsea, Portchester, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, Purbrook, Drayton, Emsworth, Hayling Island, Wickham, Bedhampton, Paulsgrove

Salary: £35,000 basic + Pension + Benefits + 28 days holiday including bank holidays

Are you an experienced Parts Advisor, Automotive Parts Advisor, Motor Factor Sales Advisor or Car Parts Sales professional with a good knowledge of vehicle parts and components?

The Role - Parts Advisor

As a Parts Advisor, you will play an important role in supporting customers and the internal team, ensuring the accurate identification, sourcing and supply of automotive parts, car parts, vehicle components and accessories.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle incoming enquiries from trade and retail customers
• Identify, advise on and supply the correct car parts, automotive components and accessories
• Accurately process customer orders using internal systems
• Use parts cataloguing systems to identify the correct vehicle parts MAM Autocat or similar experience would be advantageous
• Provide professional customer service and support with product queries, returns and stock checks
• Liaise with customers and suppliers where required to source the correct parts
• Assist with dispatch coordination, general administration and occasional warehouse duties
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive an efficient and professional service

About You

You will ideally have a background in automotive parts sales, motor factor sales, car parts, automotive retail or vehicle components.

You will also have:

• A strong interest in vehicles and automotive parts, with a good understanding of car components
• Previous experience as a Parts Advisor, Parts Sales Advisor, Automotive Parts Advisor, Motor Factor Sales Advisor or similar
• A confident communication style and professional telephone manner
• Good customer service skills and the ability to deal comfortably with both trade and retail customers
• Good IT skills and confidence using**Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience using MAM Software, MAM Autocat or similar automotive parts cataloguing systems would be beneficial
• The ability to manage multiple enquiries and tasks effectively in a busy environment
• A positive, team-focused approach and the ability to work as part of a supportive team
