Job summary

Greenshields JCB Limited in Barking is seeking a full-time Parts Advisor to join a busy depot parts department. You will be responsible for achieving daily sales and profit targets, delivering parts locally, and maintaining customer relationships.

Key tasks include handling counter and remote orders, admin duties, stock control, and upselling opportunities. Forklift operation and a clean driving licence are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Parts Advisor.
• Technical competency for parts handling and sales.
• Forklift licence or certification is required.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel for admin tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple demands.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls (internal and external) and own them.
• Process customer orders from trade counter, post, phone, or staff.
• Complete administration accurately and on time.
• Suggest product alternatives and upsell to maximise profit.
• Order and store parts and monitor stock levels.
• Operate a forklift truck safely and responsibly.

Parts Advisor

Based in Barking

We are looking for a full-time Parts Advisor at our Barking depot to work alongside a very successful team within a busy Parts Department. You will be responsible to achieve daily individual sales and profit targets through the effective use of resources and to pro-actively maintain and develop the depot sales and profitability by value added selling and enhancing customer relationships. Must be able to drive in order to deliver parts and attachments to customers as and when required. Clean driving licence is essential.

• Answer all incoming both internal and external telephone calls and take ownership of those calls.
• To promptly deal with customer orders received over the trade counter or via post, telephone or sales staff.
• Complete all required administration accurately, effectively and on time.
• To suggest appropriate product alternatives if applicable and to take advantage of all add on selling opportunities to maximise sales and profit whilst maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction and confidence.
• Order and store parts and monitor stock levels.
• Operate a fork lift truck in a safe and responsible manner.

Key skills we are looking for:

• Minimum 2 Years Parts Advisor experience.
• Technical competencies of a Parts person.
• Qualified to drive a forklift truck.
• Computer literate with basic knowledge of both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment with multiple demands.
