Job summary

Newmedica in Wakefield is seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our theatre team on a part-time basis, working Saturdays and/or Sundays (8/16 hours per week) with potential occasional shifts at Leeds. You will scrub, anticipate issues, and support the surgeon during cataract procedures while upholding high standards of patient safety and hygiene.

You will also handle medicine management, audits, and accurate record-keeping, and manage clinical waste with strict disposal

Qualifications

• Fully qualified RN or ODP with current NMC/HCPC registration.
• Ophthalmic knowledge including ability to set up for surgery.
• Experience across ophthalmic pathways including cataract and oculoplastic.

Responsibilities

• Set up theatre for surgery and support the surgeon during the daily list; help cleandown and maintain patient safety and hygiene.
• Undertake medicine management and audit duties; maintain accurate patient records.
• Manage clinical waste and ensure correct disposal procedures.
