Job summary

Newmedica in Leeds is seeking a part-time Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our theatre team on Saturdays and/or Sundays (8/16 hours per week), with possible duties at Wakefield. You will scrub, support surgeons, set up for cataract surgery, and help maintain high standards of patient care and hygiene.

Mandatory NMC/HCPC registration with ophthalmic knowledge is required. A fast-paced, team environment and commitment to CPD are valued. Contact HR Lead for more details.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Registered Nurse or ODP with current NMC/HCPC registration.
• Ophthalmic knowledge with ability to set up for surgery.
• Understanding of Phaco instrumentation, biometry, lens bank and implants.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrubbing services and support the surgeon during theatre lists.
• Set up theatre, ensure sterile field and patient safety.
• Assist with cleaning down theatre and disposal procedures; maintain hygiene standards.
