Job summary

Newmedica is seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our Northamptonshire site. Full and part time applications are welcome, including weekend rotas. You will scrub for cataract and other ophthalmic procedures, set up the theatre, and support the surgeon through the daily list.

The role requires current NMC/HCPC registration, extensive ophthalmic pathway experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with current NMC/HCPC registration.
• Experience across ophthalmic pathways (Cataract, Vitreoretinal, Oculoplastic).
• Able to set up for surgery and support the surgeon during theatre lists.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub support during cataract and other ophthalmic procedures.
• Set up theatre, anticipate issues, and maintain patient safety and hygiene.
• Assist surgeon, resolve intraoperative problems, and ensure accurate patient records.
