Job summary

BERKSHIRE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE AND OXFORDSHIRE WILDLIFE TRUST is seeking a part-time Duty Manager at College Lake Nature Reserve to lead visitor experiences, oversee opening/closing, and coordinate staff and volunteers. The role supports retail, interpretation and engagement initiatives, with a focus on high-quality customer service.

The position offers 14 hours per week on a 3-week rota, with 1 in 3 weekends and some bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public and volunteers in diverse situations.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to handle cash accurately; training provided for safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive visitor experience with excellent customer service and handle issues professionally.
• Open and close the Visitor Centre.
• Coordinate staff and volunteers during shifts to respond to changing circumstances.
• Contribute to Visitor Centre objectives through retail, interpretation, trails, marketing and engagement activities.
