Job summary

BBOWT’s College Lake Nature Reserve in Tring, England, seeks a Duty Manager to deliver a welcoming visitor experience and support its vision of engaging people with nature. This permanent, part-time role covers 14 hours per week, with two days on a 3-week rota and weekend work.

You’ll open/close the centre, supervise volunteers, manage retail and interpretation initiatives, and help with visitor engagement.

Qualifications

• Ability to deal with the public and volunteers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience handling cash and completing required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive visitor experience and handle issues professionally.
• Open and close the visitor centre.
• Coordinate staff and volunteers during shifts.
• Contribute to centre objectives through retail, trails, interpretation, marketing and engagement.
